General Billing

Bill reprint charge

You'll be charged each time you ask for a paper copy of a bill that's already been sent to you. This is true whether you're on online billing or paper billing.

You can avoid this charge by signing up for online billing. You can download a PDF version of any of your bills from the last 18 months for free through My Account. It has everything on your paper bill, including extra usage details.

Returned payment charge

If your payment doesn't go through, a one-time returned payment charge will appear on your next bill.

To avoid this in the future, keep your payment information up to date. This applies to both one-time payments and pre-authorized payments.

This charge doesn't apply to customers in Quebec.

Wireless

Provincial 9-1-1 fee

Certain provincial governments require mobile carriers to collect a monthly 9-1-1 fee to fund local emergency services. It's a separate line item on your bill and isn't included in your plan. All calls to 9-1-1 from your Fido mobile phone are free. This fee, which varies by province, applies if your services are registered in:

  • Alberta
  • New Brunswick
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Quebec
  • Saskatchewan

Suspension/processing fee

If your account is suspended due to a missed payment, a suspension or account processing fee may apply.

This fee doesn't apply to customers in Quebec.

Device Protection

Fido offers Premium Device Protection, which protects your device against loss, theft, damage and malfunction. A monthly charge applies to each line with this add-on. If you have more than one line, only the lines covered will show this charge.

You can add Premium Device Protection within 60 days of:

  • Activating your mobile plan
  • Buying a new Fido phone

Upgrading your phone lost or stolen protection isn't available in Quebec or for Apple Watch.

Device setup charge

When you buy a device like a phone, tablet or watch, you'll pay an in-store setup support fee, which is available at any Fido store within 30 days of your purchase.

Device setup support includes:

  • Initializing your device and setting up your SIM or eSIM
  • Transferring apps and content from your previous device
  • Getting help with cloud backup services
  • A walkthrough of your device's health, diagnostic and security features

SIM replacement fee

If your SIM card is lost or stolen, you can order a replacement physical SIM card. A one-time fee applies for each replacement SIM card requested.

Telephone number change

If you ask for a change to your phone number, a one-time fee may apply.

Device financing

Device financing lets you get phones, tablets, mobile internet devices and smartwatches for $0 down on approved credit. You pay off the full amount in equal monthly payments over 24 months with 0% interest.

To finance a device, you need an eligible Fido postpaid plan.

Shipping fee

If you choose to have your device or physical SIM card shipped to your home, a shipping fee will apply when you place your order.
