Credit Limit Monitoring
What is credit limit monitoring?
Credit limit monitoring is a preset spending limit on how much you can spend each month on your Fido account. Your credit limit amount is usually determined when you activate your account, but can be set or adjusted afterwards as well. Credit limit monitoring works with all Fido phones.

How can I calculate my credit limit monitoring balance?
Add up all the services and features of your plan, such as: monthly fees, billed and unbilled usage charges, pay-per-use charges, phone upgrades, purchases billed to your account, all taxes, and so forth. Subtract from that amount any payments you make or credits we’ve applied, and you’re left with your balance.

It’s as easy as calling *28 from your Fido. You can make a payment at any time – even before receiving your monthly invoice. You can also pay your account at a Fido store or kiosk, by credit card, debit card or cash.
Note: Your account is credited immediately when making a payment by *28. Payments made at a Fido store or kiosk are applied within two business days.

What happens if I reach my credit limit?
Fido will notify you with a text message when your account is nearing its credit limit. You should then make a payment to avoid having your service temporarily suspended. Failure to pay your monthly invoice on time will also result in a suspension of services.
If you have a pre-authorized payment plan (credit card or automatic bank debit), remember that payments only come off at the end of your billing month. No additional payments will be made by your pre-authorized plan to keep your account in good standing.

Do I need to pay a security deposit with credit limit monitoring, and will I ever get it back?
It’s possible that a security deposit may be requested. The amount of the deposit, as well as your credit limit, are determined based on the results of a Fido credit assessment.
Security deposits are held on your account for a minimum of one year. If monthly payments are made on time, your security deposit may be released into your account at the end of the one year period.
