How to return Fido Internet equipment

To return a phone, tablet, see Returning a Wireless phone or tablet >.

To return unused/disconnected Fido modem (and to avoid unreturned equipment fees!) just ship it back to us at no charge. (Note: You must ship back the modem, as well as the power cord)

We’ve partnered with Canada Post to offer you a convenient, no-charge return of your rental equipment. To avoid fees, you must return all rental equipment.

If you have already received a return authorization email, please follow the steps provided in that email to return your equipment. The steps are also outlined below. You can also watch our helpful how-to videos, whether you want to print your return label at home or at a Canada Post location.

Before you begin:

We’ll first need to authorize any return. Before returning equipment, please contact us > if you haven’t already requested to cancel your Internet.

Once we've placed your equipment return order, we'll attempt to send you an electronic Waybill via email. See a list of items that should be returned, below.

If you’ve already been billed for unreturned equipment, keep in mind that credits for equipment charges can take up to 2 billing cycles to appear on your bill.

FAQs

I didn't receive an email with a return waybill. How can I return the equipment?

Didn't receive the return waybill via email? Not to worry! You don't need a waybill to return your Fido equipment! You can simply pack your items in a box and bring it to a Canada Post location with Return ID Number PR823007 (full details below). Canada Post will provide you with a receipt.

I don't have the original Fido box for the equipment I need to return. What do I do?

You can pack your equipment in any shipping-ready box. This can be a box received from an online purchase, gift box, shoe box, etc. The only requirement we ask is that the box will allow you to close it securely for shipping purposes.

Can I return my equipment to a Fido Store or get a technician to come pick it up?

Retail locations and technicians don't accept returns as they are unable to confirm the receipt of equipment in the systems they use. Please use the waybill that was sent and return your equipment via Canada Post.

How long do I have to return my equipment to avoid being charged?

You have 30 days in which for us to receive back the equipment after your disconnection date, otherwise you'll be billed for unreturned equipment.
