How to switch equipment

This information applies only if you need to update your phone or SIM card information because you are using a different one with your Fido services. If you are looking for a new phone, click here.

How to switch to another phone

Things to Know

  • If your new phone was bought from Fido, it is ready to use.
    • If it’s not from Fido, you will need to unlock it and configure it in order to use all our services.
  • You may need a different SIM card than your current one.
  • If your new phone uses the same SIM card format, you do not have to contact us.
    • Simply switch your SIM card from your old phone to your new one.
    • Contacts information must be saved on your SIM card to access them in your new phone.
      • Refer to your phone’s user guide to learn how to transfer the contents of your current phone to your SIM card.
How to change your SIM card

Things to Know

  • Before you change your SIM card, make sure to save your contacts on your phone as you won’t be able to access them from your old SIM card once it is changed.
    • To transfer the contents of your current SIM card to your phone, refer to your phone’s user guide
  • If you change your SIM card because you reported your phone lost or stolen, you will need to remove the service restriction online.

To change your SIM card

  • Log in to My Account.
  • Click on Change your SIM card under the My Fido Service section.
  • In the dropdown menu, select the Fido number to which you need to update the SIM card.
  • Enter the new SIM card number in the required field.
  • Select Next.

To remove a service restriction

  • Log in to My Account.
  • Click on Reactivate under the Phone Reported Lost or Stolen section.
  • Follow the instructions
