Email to text

Did you know that your Fido has a mobile email address? It’s your 10 digit Fido number @fido.ca (for example 5145551234@fido.ca). Fido Email to text service allows you to receive email sent to this address right on your Fido. You can read, reply, forward your e-mail and even block senders from sending you unwanted messages and spam.

Getting Started

  1. Your phone's e-mail address is your 10 digit Fido number followed by @fido.ca (for example 5145551234@fido.ca).
  2. When an e-mail is sent to your @fido.ca address, you will receive a 'Message Alert' in your Fido inbox.
  3. Simply reply “Read” to the Message alert* if you want to receive the message or “Block” to block the sender from sending you future messages and avoid spam.

Direct Delivery Option

The Direct Delivery Option allows you to receive the first 160 characters of each message automatically. Message Alerts will no longer be sent to you when you subscribe to this optional feature. All other features will remain the same.

Pricing

Regular text message charges will apply when you reply to a Message Alert at either $.20 per message or as per your text messaging plan.

A monthly fee of $5 applies when you subscribe to the Email to text Direct Delivery Option.

*Spam Control: The E-mail to text service uses a sophisticated anti-spam engine to help insure that subscribers do not receive unsolicited e-mail messages. A network component will block messages which contain specific criteria, unique to spam messages. As well, subscribers may also choose to personalize the behaviour of their service by populating their "allow" and "deny" lists (see above). e-mail originating from addresses in the "deny" list will never reach the phone. E-mail originating from addresses in the "allow" list will always reach the phone, whether the service believes the messages to be spam or not.
