Text Messaging (SMS)

Text messages can be sent or received between other wireless phones across Canada and the world. You will be able to send, save, delete, reply, or forward any text messages. Text messages are sometime also referred as SMS. How much does it cost?

Things to Know

  • A text message can hold a maximum of 160 characters. If a message is longer, it will be divided and sent in two or more messages and you’ll be billed accordingly.
  • Your phone will notify you and display an icon that looks like an envelope when you have received a text message.
  • All text messages are automatically saved in the Message menu or app on your phone.
  • When you send a message, your phone number will appear on the other person's screen, even if they don't have Call Display or if your number is confidential.
  • When you are unable to receive a text message (i.e.: battery drained, you are out of coverage or your phone is missing memory), the system will try to send the message every 15 minutes for the first hour, then once every hour for the next three days. After this period, the system will delete the text message and you will not be able to receive it.
