This service allows you to receive e-mails right on your phone’s e-mail address (for example 5145551234@fido.ca). You can reply, forward and copy as well. Learn what Email to text is and how much it costs.
Things to Know
- A capacity of over 160 characters per message.
- You can block a sending address or domain.
- The pending messages are queued for up to 72 hours while the system tries to deliver.
- The E-mail messages are valid for 24 hours.
- If not responded to after 24 hours, the e-mail is no longer available.

- Reply Yes to e-mail message received from number@fido.ca
How to read your e-mails
- You will receive the following SMS alert when message is received through number@fido.ca:
- You have mail from (email address). Reply with Read to view your message.
- The message will end with More if it contents over 160 characters.
- To read entire message, reply M or More or R or Read.
- Incoming messages will be from variation of short codes 305XXXXX.

Spam Control:
The E-mail to text service uses a sophisticated anti-spam engine to help insure that subscribers do not receive unsolicited e-mail messages. A network component will block messages which contain specific criteria, unique to spam messages. As well, subscribers may also choose to personalize the behaviour of their service by populating their "allow" and "deny" lists (see above). e-mail originating from addresses in the "deny" list will never reach the phone. E-mail originating from addresses in the "allow" list will always reach the phone, whether the service believes the messages to be spam or not.

- Create a new text message and enter the word "mail" (in lower case letters) at the beginning of the message, followed by a space.
- Enter the recipient's e-mail address, followed by a space.
- Enter the subject title in parentheses.
- Write your message.
- Enter Fido (3436) instead of a phone number.
