My call display doesn't display the caller's phone number

Before you start using this troubleshooting tool:

  • Not all plans have Call Display included. Consult My Account and view your monthly invoice to verify if you have the option before you start.
  • When roaming outside of the Fido network, name display may not be available.

If you see the following:

  • Unknown Number
  • Private Number
  • Confidential Number
  • Withheld Number
  • Call

This means the person calling has blocked their number or the telephone system used by the caller did not send the information to show the number.

Although the name is stored in the phone book, only the number is displayed
  • Verify if number is stored twice with two different names in phone's phone book. Sometimes when this situation occurs, the phone doesn't know what name to display, so it displays only the number. If this is not the case contact your phones manufacturer.
  • When storing a number in your phone book ensure you always enter the country code with area code.
I’m unable to reach the number that was left on my call display
  • Some numbers cannot receive incoming calls ( for example a payphone ).
