First time set-up

Press and hold the "1" key on your phone for a few seconds to access your Voice Messaging service.

The first time you access your Voice Messaging service, you'll be prompted to create the following:

  • Your own personal access code (4 to 5 digits long)
  • A personal greeting and a recording of your name (your voice signature)
    • Note: You can’t keep the default greeting, and your voice signature can’t be deleted once it’s recorded.

Reset your Voice Messaging access code by logging into My Account

 

  1. Login to fido.ca.
  2. Choose the wireless account or mobile number for which you’d like to change the voicemail password and select View Usage & Manage for this account.
  3. Scroll down to the QUICK ACTIONS section and select Reset voicemail password. support-voice-messaging-reset-password-step3-en
  4. Enter and confirm the new voicemail password, then select SUBMIT.support-voice-messaging-reset-password-step4-en

On the Fido My Account app:

  1. Log in to the Fido My Account App on your mobile phone.
  2. From the dropdown menu at the top of the screen, choose the wireless account or mobile number for which you’d like to change the voicemail password.
  3. Select the PHONE tab, then select UPDATE VOICEMAIL PASSWORD.
  4. Enter the new password and select CHANGE PASSWORD.

Using our Self-serve menu

Alternatively, you can use our self-serve menu by dialling 6-1-1 from your Fido phone or by dialling 1-888-481-3436 from any other phone.

  • Press "2" to use the self-serve menu.
  • Press "3" to access the services menu (for Fido RoamTM and all other available transactions).
  • Press "4" to change your PIN.
  • Press “3” again to reset your voicemail password.
  • Follow the instructions to create a new Voice Messaging access code.

From your Fido phone:

  • Press and hold the "1" key on your phone for a few seconds to access your Voice Messaging service.
  • Enter your access code when prompted.
  • Follow the instructions to listen to your messages.

From any other phone:

  • Call your own Fido phone number.
  • Press the "#" key during your greeting message.
  • Enter your access code when prompted.
  • Follow the instructions to listen to your messages.

Managing your greeting

To modify your personal greeting message:

 

  1. Press and hold the "1" key on your phone for a few seconds to access your Voice Messaging service.
  2. Enter your access code when prompted.
  3. Press the "3" key to access the customization menu.
  4. Press the "1" key to access the Voice Messaging cuztomization menu.
  5. Press the "3" key again to access the greeting customization menu.
  6. Follow the instructions to delete your current greeting and/or record a new one.

    Setting the Voice Messaging Retrieval Number (VMR)

    If you have a non-Fido phone or if your Voice Messaging settings have been deleted, simply program the following number into the settings of your device in order to retrieve your voice messages:

    • Voice Messaging Retrieval Number: +1-416-821-6549

     

    Note: There are no long-distance charges for calling this number on the Fido network while you are in your local calling area (LCA), even if the number is from a different province.

    To set the Voice Messaging Retrieval (VMR) number for iPhone:

    1. Access your phone keypad
    2. Dial *5005*86*+14168216549# and press Call
    3. The screen will flash briefly indicating the number has been programmed
    4. The above instructions may not work for all models of iPhone

    To set the Voice Messaging Retrieval (VMR) number for Android (instructions may vary based on Operating System version):

    1. Go to Settings > Call Settings > Voicemail Settings > Voicemail Number
    2. Enter +14168216549
    3. Save the settings

    For all other phones:

    • Alternately this number can be programmed either in the voicemail settings or as a quick-dial or contact.
    • For assistance with a non-Fido phone, please consult the manufacturer of your device.

    Using your Voice Messaging while travelling

    To access your messages from anywhere in the world simply press and hold the "1" key on your phone.
