FAQs about helping Atlantic communities during Hurricane Fiona

Our hearts go out to the people of Atlantic Canada who are experiencing the devastating impacts of Hurricane Fiona.

We're aware of power outages affecting services in parts of Atlantic Canada. Use fido.ca/outage to track network outages.

We are working closely with provincial hydro & EMOs to restore services for our customers following Hurricane Fiona. Critical services are up and we have teams of technicians travelling from Ontario & Quebec to support wireless & wireline restoration. Wireless towers are powered by hydro & default to battery back-up during an outage. We have deployed generators to cell sites to charge batteries until power is restored. With downed trees & power lines, our crews will access cell sites & fibre lines once possible and safe to do so.

How's Fido helping us stay connected to our friends and family?

  • We're giving you 50GB of extra mobile data until the end of your billing cycle.
  • Starting on September 24 and running until midnight on September 28, we're waiving long-distance calling fees from Atlantic provinces to anywhere in Canada.
