Additional Terms and Conditions for iPhone plans



The following terms and conditions govern your use of the Apple® iPhoneTM on the FidoTM network. They supplement and are incorporated into the Fido Terms and Conditions, which are available at fido.ca/terms, and form part of our Fido Service Agreement with you. Capitalized terms below have the meanings given to them in the Fido Terms and Conditions or the Fido Service Agreement. Amounts below do not include applicable taxes.

Visual Voicemail
With Visual Voicemail, there are two ways to retrieve your voice mail messages: 1) accessing a Visual Voicemail message directly through your iPhone, which will not use any minutes included with your voice plan nor incur any data usage charges in Canada and 2) by pressing and holding “1” on your iPhone which is treated as any other wireless call with all minutes used deducted from the number of minutes included in your voice plan.

Data Usage
Your iPhone will be enabled for data usage. If you subscribe to a plan with no data included, you will be prompted to purchase a pay-per-use Data Day Pass any time you attempt to use a service that requires data to be sent and/or received over the Fido network, unless you subscribe to a Data add-on, which we highly recommend. The data allowances included with the iPhone plans are only intended for data usage on the iPhone and do not apply to usage on any other device.

Roaming
Some data charges may be incurred if your iPhone is taken out of Canada even if there has been no user initiated data activity. This is because your iPhone interacts automatically with the data network to update and synchronize your data services on a near real-time basis (i.e. to check for new e-mail messages). Voice and data usage while roaming, including data usage incurred from delivery of Visual Voicemail messages, will be charged at our regular roaming rates. Visit fido.ca/roaming for our roaming rates and destinations.
You can also subscribe to a Data add-on, Data Roaming add-on or Data Travel Pack to save on data charges. If you want to avoid data charges while traveling, please ensure that the Data Roaming toggle on your iPhone is set to “OFF”, which will block data roaming when the iPhone is outside Canada.

Wi-Fi access to Fido andRogers Hotspots
If you subscribe to an iPhone plan, then you will have Wi-Fi access to Fido and RogersTM HotspotsTM without incurring additional usage charges while using your iPhone. For the Fido and Rogers Hotspots footprint, please go to fido.ca/hotspot.

Important note to existing Fido customers
If you are an existing Fido customer and have subscribed to a new iPhone plan, please note the following:

1) the voice plan portion of your new plan will become effective at midnight at the end of the day that you have subscribed to your new plan;
2) the Data add-on and text messaging portions of your new plan will become effective immediately upon activation, unless you have an existing data and/or text messaging add-on, in which case the Data add-on and/or text messaging portion(s) of your new plan will take effect
at midnight at the end of the day that you have subscribed to your new plan; and
3) since your existing plan will only be effective for a portion of the current billing period, the monthly service fee and the minutes and/or data usage included in that plan will be pro-rated to reflect the portion of the current billing period that your existing plan was effective, which may result in additional charges for any minutes and/or data usage exceeding the plan’s pro-rated monthly allowance.

Unauthorized modification to iPhone
Your iPhone is restricted to use on the Fido network, unless you are roaming. If you attempt to unlock your iPhone and use it on another network, it may become permanently unusable. Making unauthorized modifications to the software on your iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement, and any resulting inability to use your iPhone is not covered under your iPhone’s warranty.
