Our 20th Anniversary Data Bonus Offer

What’s the offer?

Between October 7–24, 2016, new and existing eligible postpaid customers qualify for 1GB of free bonus data (500MB a month for 2 months). Your bonus data will go into effect when your November billing cycle begins. We will text you when it starts.

If you have multiple lines on your account, take full advantage of the offer by opting-in all your lines. Each line is eligible for an additional 500MB of free bonus data a month for 2 months.

Note: If you exceed the data included in your plan and under this offer, regular overage charges will apply.

I’m an existing customer. How do I opt-in for the offer?

Do you receive a monthly invoice from Fido? It’s simple to opt-in. Just text “GIFT” to 2020 by 11:59 P.M. EST on October 24, 2016.

I’m a new postpaid customer, or switching from Fido prepaid to a postpaid account. How do I opt-in for the offer?

Are you a new postpaid Fido customer or switching from Fido prepaid to a postpaid plan? Good news, all new postpaid line activations made between October 7, 2016 and 11:59 P.M. EST on October 24, 2016 will automatically receive the data bonus.

Who is eligible for the data bonus?

All new and existing eligible postpaid customers qualify for 1GB of free bonus data (500MB a month for 2 months).

All Fido prepaid customers who make the switch to a postpaid plan during the offer period (Oct. 7–24, 2016) will automatically receive the data bonus.

Who isn’t eligible for the data bonus?

  • Existing customers with a pre-existing data bonus offer on their line which is not available to the general public.
  • Customers on Fido prepaid plans.
  • Customers with plans or add-ons that include unlimited data.

I use Fido prepaid. Why aren’t I eligible for the data bonus?

Unfortunately, this offer is exclusive to new and existing eligible postpaid customers. Some of our other offers are exclusive to Fido prepaid customers. If you find this offer too good to pass up, switch your services to a postpaid plan to take advantage of this offer.

 

Using Your Data Bonus

When will my data bonus kick in?

Your bonus data will go into effect when your November billing cycle begins. We will text you when it starts.

How does the data bonus work with Fido plans that include data?

Your data usage will first be deducted from your monthly 500MB data bonus and then from the data that’s included with your plan.

We will text you when you’ve used up your data bonus each month.

How does the data bonus work with Fido plans with no data?

If you are on a voice-only plan, once your monthly 500MB bonus data is used up you’ll be able to buy a Data Pass to continue using data.

We will text you when you've used up your data bonus each month.

How long is the data bonus available for?

The data bonus is available for 2 months. In total, you’ll get 1GB of free bonus data — 500MB each month. We will text you when the offer is completed.

Am I able to do a transfer of responsibility including the data bonus?

Yes. Your data bonus can be transferred to the new account owner, but if the new owner changes their phone number, the data bonus will be removed.

My data is blocked. Am I able to use the data bonus?

No. A data block prevents all data usage. Please contact us if you’d like us to remove your data block. Once your data block has been removed, opt-in by texting “GIFT” to 2020 by 11:59 P.M. EST on October 24, 2016.

How come I don’t see the usage for my data bonus in My Account? Is it active?

Your data usage will only show up when your monthly 500MB data bonus has been used up.

Will I lose my data bonus if I change my phone number?

Yes. Unfortunately, this offer is only compatible with your current phone number. Your data bonus will be automatically removed if you change your number.

Will the data bonus extend the term of my Fido agreement

No. Our data bonus offer does not impact the length of your Fido agreement.
