Yes, someone 18 years of age or older needs to be home for a technician.
If you choose to have your modem shipped or to pick it up in a store, you can get started immediately in most cases. However, depending on your address we may need to send a technician to your area so we can activate your internet connection on our network. This would happen within two days of placing your Fido Home Internet order with us. The switch is usually located outside your home so you don’t need to be home for us to flip it on. When your connection is active, you’ll receive a note from the tech letting you know.
If there’s an issue activating your internet connection, the tech will explain why and go over next steps if you happen to be home, or they’ll call to fill you in on the details.
