What’s Fido Roam Travel Pass?

Fido Roam Travel Pass is an add-on that lets you use your data, talk and text plan like you do at home while roaming in the US and select international destinations for a set duration.

Note: The Travel passes don’t have a separate usage bucket. They use the data, talk and text amounts included in your plan.

What features can I use with a Fido Roam Travel Pass?

You can use your plan’s data, talk and text features within your travel destination and to any other destinations included in your plan.

For example, if you buy a Europe Travel Pass and you’re currently in France:

  • If your plan includes calling and texting to the US and Mexico, you can call and text people within France, US, Mexico and Canada. If you call or text someone in another country (ex: Germany), you’ll get long distance charges,
  • If your plan is a Canada-only plan, you can call and text people within France and Canada. If you call or text someone in another country (ex: Germany), you’ll get long distance charges,

Will I get charged for Fido Roam Daily if I buy Fido Roam Travel Pass?

You won't get charged for Fido Roam Daily if you travel within the eligible destinations and duration of your Travel Pass

I got Fido Roam Travel pass in the middle of my trip. Can I set my Travel Pass’ start date back to the beginning of my trip?

You can’t backdate Travel Passes. If you’ve started travelling before getting it, you’ll incur the Fido Roam daily charge until your Travel Pass’ activation date. You’ll then be covered for the duration of the Travel Pass.

What Travel Passes do you offer and how do I get them?

There are currently 8 Fido Roam Travel Passes available:

  • US Travel Pass (14 or 30 days)
  • Caribbean and Mexico Travel Pass (14 or 30 days)
  • Europe Travel Pass (14 or 30 days)
  • International Travel Pass (14 or 30 days)

You can get a Travel Pass by signing in to MyRogers and selecting Manage add-ons on the number you want it for.

You’ll find the charge on the next bill after your Travel Pass’ activation date.

 

What destinations are included in the Fido Roam Travel Pass?

Here are the eligible destinations for the Travel Passes:

Can I buy a Travel Pass ahead of time?

Yes! You can get it up to 60 days before your travel date. You must then set its activation date on My Account before you travel. Keep in mind:

  • When you activate your Travel Pass, it starts at 12 a.m. ET on the date of activation (Day 1) and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on the final day (Day 14 or 30).
  • You can set travel dates or cancel your Travel Pass by signing in to My Account and selecting Manage Add-Ons on the number with the Travel Pass.

Activated Travel Passes are non-refundable. You can cancel pending Travel Passes and you won’t get any charges. 

I got my Travel Pass! How can I make sure it works?

To ensure a great roaming experience, keep note of the following:

  • If you’ve disabled Fido Roam on your account, make sure you reactivate it during your travel period. You can check if it’s enabled by texting TRAVEL to 222.
  • Make sure all roaming blocks are removed from the number that’s travelling. Our virtual assistant can help you check if you have them on your account.

Roaming must be turned on from your device.

My Fido Roam Travel Pass is almost over but I still need to travel. Can I renew it?

You can’t renew a Travel Pass. However, you can buy another one and choose a start date based on when the previous one ends. This makes sure you get the benefits of the Travel Pass throughout your trip!
