Before you set up automatic payments

Allow up to 1 business day for your payment history to appear online.

Your first automatic payment may take up to 1 full billing cycle to start. If you have a balance due now, make a one-time payment to avoid late fees.

If your payment is declined, we’ll send you an email and text so you can update your payment information. See what happens if a payment fails.

Update your payment method

Updates must be made at least 48 hours before the withdrawal date on your bill for the payment to process on time. If it’s less than 48 hours from your scheduled withdrawal date, make a one-time payment for your outstanding balance to avoid late payment charges.

If you mail in your request, a pre-authorized debit change can take up to 6 weeks to process. Only cheques and direct deposit forms from Canadian financial institutions are accepted. Save time and avoid waiting by making your pre-authorized debit change online through My Account.

What happens if a payment fails

Pre-authorized payments take funds before your due date, so you won’t miss a payment or get a late fee. If there aren't enough funds available, we'll try to process the payment again. After a second failed attempt, we’ll cancel your automatic payments and remove the Auto-Pay Discount.

Keep the Auto-Pay Discount on your existing plan

As long as you keep your current plan (already receiving the Auto-Pay Discount) and stay on an eligible payment method, you’ll keep the discount. If you make changes as of July 23, 2026 (home services) or September 15, 2026 (mobile), you’ll need to update to a Rogers Bank credit card or pre-authorized debit to keep the discount.

We may sometimes change our offers, including the discount, but we’ll always communicate any updates in advance.

Get the Auto-Pay Discount back

Lost the discount? You can get it back. Once your account is set up with an eligible payment method and eligible plan, the discount will be applied automatically.

Visa Debit and Mastercard debit cards

If you’re using a Visa Debit or Mastercard debit card for automatic payments, your card must be enabled for recurring e-commerce transactions. You can turn this on in your online banking app or by contacting your bank.
