Just look for the Hotspot logo. It’s the simple, affordable and hassle-free way to maximize your time while you're on the go!
Getting started
Before connecting to a Fido® Hotspot, register first on fido.ca to obtain your password. You'll then get direct access to the Hotspot of your choice using only your Fido phone number and your password.
What you need
A Wi-Fi enabled laptop with one of the following operating systems: MS Windows XP® or MS Windows 2000®
A network adapter compatible with 802.11b or 802.11g technology (the device can be either a Wi-Fi embedded adapter or a Wi-Fi interface card). Network adapters can purchased at most electronics stores. All certified Wi-Fi devices or network adapters are compatible.
A supported browser: Internet Explorer® version 5.0 or higher with 128-bit SSL (Windows) or Netscape Navigator® version 6.0 or higher with 128-bit SSL (Windows).

Always make sure JavaScript®, Cookies and pop-up windows are enabled and proxy settings are switched off.

How to connect
Once your network adapter has been installed and activated, use the card configuration utility to verify the following settings:
- SSID (Service Set Identifier) activated. For example, Hotspot_Fido
- WEP security disabled.

How much it costs
Fido offers four different time blocks to fit your timeframe and budget. Choose one that works best for you, then simply visit a Hotspot location to purchase.
Time block add-ons
- 1 hour: $8
- 1 day: $15
- 1 week: $25
- 1 month: $40
Hotspot service is available to all Fido monthly plan subscribers and prepaid customers. Charges are applied to your monthly invoice or debited from your prepaid account.
Please note that time blocks start counting down the moment they're activated and give you unlimited Internet access during your time period. Subject to Fido's Fair Use Policy.
