I’ve heard Fido is currently out of stock of iPhone 3GS devices, how long will it take for inventory to be in stock for purchase in stores as well as to purchase online?
The Canadian launch of the iPhone 3GS has been a tremendous success. As such, Fido has experienced high demand and has sold out of the iPhone 3GS in some locations. Inventory is coming in on a weekly basis with backorders being fulfilled first. As demand for the Apple iPhone 3GS remains high, we ask that you continue to check fido.ca and your local outlets where Fido products are being sold.

When can I get the new devices?
The new devices will be available on June 19th 2009.
Where can I purchase the new devices?
Customers wishing to buy new models can visit their nearest Fido retail location and wherever Fido's smartphones are sold. Visit fido.ca to find location addresses.
Can I redeem my FidoDollars for a new iPhone 3GS?
Yes. You can redeem you FidoDollars towards the no-term cost of the iPhone 3GS by subscribing to a data add-on with term.
Is there a limit to the number of iPhone 3GS that I can purchase?
Overwhelming customer feedback indicates there's great demand for iPhone 3G in Canada so to ensure as many Canadians as possible can get one as soon as possible, we are limiting purchase at launch to a maximum of two devices per new customer activation until further notice.
Will Fido carry all the new device models?
Yes, Fido and Rogers will be the Canadian wireless service providers to carry all the new devices.
Are there different colours for the new device models?
Yes, both models come in Black and White.

Who should upgrade?
If you have an iPhone 3G you should upgrade to the new iPhone OS 3.0 software. If you have the new iPhone 3GS, the OS will already be 3.0. Upgrading your software is free of charge.
How do I upgrade to Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0 software, available June 17?
- Connect your iPhone to your computer
- Start iTunes, please ensure you have the latest version available from www.itunes.com
- Click on "Check for updates"
- Click "Ok" to update
What is MMS?
Multi-Media Messaging Service (MMS) messages or Picture/Video messages enable you to send messages that include video, photos, audio, and contact info. Even tap to snap a picture or shoot a video right inside Messages.

iPhone Tethering
What is tethering or wireless modem?
Tethering or wireless modem functionality is the use of your phone (such as your iPhone) as a wireless modem to connect to the internet from your computer. You can connect your phone to your computer through Bluetooth wireless technology or the USB cable provided with your phone.
Can I tether on my iPhone?
To use tethering or wireless modem functionality you require the new iPhone 3GS, or an iPhone 3G that has been upgraded with the new iPhone OS 3.0 software. For a limited time, if you have subscribed to a Data add-on which includes at least 1GB of data you may use tethering as part of the volume of data included in your add-on at no additional charge. Tethering cannot be used with Data add-on of less then 1GB.
Will data charges for tethering be free?
No, tethering data usage will come out of your existing Data add-on amount.
When will I be able to tether on my iPhone?
Customers with an iPhone 3GS will be able to tether right away. Customers with an iPhone 3G, will need to upgrade to iPhone OS 3.0 software.
What will happen when the promotion expires?
Fido will continue to enable tethering on devices that allow it, but Data add-ons will be adjusted to better reflect the way customers are using tethering services.
How do I tether on my iPhone?
Please visit Apple.com for instructions.
When I try to setup my iPhone for tethering by going through the following steps Settings-->General-->Network-->Set-up Internet Tethering, I get the following message “Set Up Internet Tethering. To enable tethering on this account contact Fido”. What does this mean?
This means that you don’t have the appropriate Data add-on on your account to support tethering, and require a Data add-on with at least 1GB worth of data for tethering to be enabled.
