The micro-SIM card for iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 uses a micro-SIM specific to the iPhone 4. There is no charge for this micro-SIM; it will be given to you at purchase along with your iPhone 4.

The SIM you may be using in your current phone, smartphone or iPhone is not compatible with your iPhone 4.

If you are an existing Fido customer and purchase an iPhone 4 , you will need to transfer your Fido phone number from your current SIM card to your iPhone 4 micro-SIM card. When you purchase your iPhone, the in-store salesperson will be able to help you to make this transfer.

If for some reason your salesperson was unable to help you to transfer your phone number in-store, simply sign into your online Fido My Account. Once signed in, select Change SIM Card, then enter your old SIM card number and your new micro-SIM card number for iPhone 4, and select Change. Your new micro-SIM will now be active.

I am an existing Fido customer, how do I transfer my current Fido number and account from my current SIM card to the micro-SIM card for iPhone 4?

The micro-SIM card for iPhone 4 will be included with your new iPhone 4. If you purchased your iPhone at a Fido store or authorized reseller, your salesperson will help you transfer your current Fido number and account from your current SIM card to the micro-SIM card for iPhone 4. If for some reason your salesperson is unable to help you to transfer your SIM information, please see here for instructions on how to complete the process. Migrating your Fido number and account is necessary as iPhone 4 requires a specific micro-SIM card that currently cannot be used in other devices.

If you purchased your iPhone 4 in-store from a Fido store or authorized reseller

How can I manage data usage on my iPhone?

Fido has developed several ways to help you keep track of their data usage. You can download the Fido My Account application from the Apple App Store. This application is FREE to download, FREE to use and it provides up-to-date information on voice, data and text messaging usage and more.

You can also log into your Fido My Account on fido.ca, to display data usage and other account details. If you currently have a Fido Agreement and are in your renewal window, your new Fido Agreement will begin immediately and shall include the number of months left in your current Fido Agreement plus the number of months you have selected for your new Fido Agreement; if you are not in your renewal window, your new Fido Agreement will begin immediately, replacing your existing Fido Agreement (if applicable). An Early Cancellation Fee (ECF) applies to all subscribers with a committed-term service agreement (Fido Agreement) if, for any reason, your service is terminated prior to the end of the Fido Agreement.

For service agreements entered into on or after June 30, 2010, applicable only to Residents of Québec: The ECF is the amount of the economic inducement (which may take the form of a discount, rebate or other benefit granted on the price of your Equipment), as stated in your service agreement (Economic Inducement), less the amount obtained by multiplying such Economic Inducement by a fraction representing the number of months elapsed in your Fido Agreement as compared to the total number of months of your Fido Agreement (plus applicable taxes). A Data Early Cancellation Fee (DECF) also applies if, for any reason, your data option is terminated prior to the end of your data option’s commitment term (Data Term). The DECF is the additional Economic Inducement you received for subscribing to your data option, less the amount obtained by multiplying such Economic Inducement by a fraction representing the number of months elapsed in your Data Term as compared to the total number of months of your Data Term (plus applicable taxes), and applies in addition to the ECF for termination of your service agreement. If you subscribe to a plan combining both voice and data services, both the ECF and the DECF apply, up to the total Economic Inducement. If there is no Economic Inducement stated in your service agreement, then the ECF is the lesser of $50 or 10% of the monthly service fees for the services that you have subscribed to on a Fido Agreement and Data Term, as applicable, but not provided as of the termination date (plus applicable taxes).

For all other service agreements: The ECF is the greater of (i) $100 or (ii) $10 per month remaining in the Fido Agreement, to a maximum of $300 (plus applicable taxes), and applies for each deactivated phone number. If you have subscribed to your monthly plan before February 1, 2007 and you continue or renew on the same monthly plan on a 2- or 3-year term, the ECF will be equal to $20 times the number of months remaining in the term, to a maximum of $200 (plus applicable taxes). If you have subscribed to your monthly plan on or after February 1, 2007 but before July 19, 2009 and you continue or renew on the same monthly plan on a 2- or 3-year term, the ECF will be the greater of (i) $100 or (ii) $20 per month remaining in the term, to a maximum of $400 (plus applicable taxes). A Data Early Cancellation Fee (DECF) also applies if, for any reason, your data option is terminated prior to the end of your plan’s commitment term (Data Term). The DECF is the greater of (i) $100 or (ii) $10 per month remaining in the Data Term, to a maximum of $200 (plus applicable taxes), and applies in addition to the ECF for termination of your Fido Agreement. If you have subscribed to your data option before July 19, 2009 and you continue or renew on the same option on a 2- or 3-year term, the DECF will be the greater of (i) $25 or (ii) $5 per month remaining in the Data Term, to a maximum of $100 (plus applicable taxes), and applies in addition to the ECF for termination of your Fido Agreement. If you subscribe to a plan combining both voice and data services, both the ECF and DECF apply.
