What is the new Fido?

The new Fido is giving low prices a good home by offering customers high-value low-price plans and a unique owner’s guarantee.

Don’t the new Fido plans contradict your pricing strategy for Fido customers who subscribed before November 4, 2008?

The competitive environment, as well as our customers’ needs, has changed. The new Fido, like the old Fido, is fully committed to the Fido attributes of being passionate about our customers’ needs, straightforward and loyal. With the new Fido, we want to keep it simple and offer our customers price certainty.

If I subscribed to a Fido monthly plan prior to November 4, 2008, can I switch to any of the new monthly plans, and how do I do that?

Yes, you can. Our Customer Service team will be happy to guide you in choosing the monthly plan best suited to your needs. If you select a plan launched on or after November 4, 2008, a one-time set-up fee of $35 per line will be applied to benefit from the new Fido. Adding options to your account can be done at any time without charge. To talk to one of our representatives, call 611, free of charge, from your Fido, or 1-888-481-3436.

Do I have to pay the set-up fee if I’ve been a subscriber to a Fido monthly plan before November 4?

The $35 set-up fee is charged only if you choose to go to a plan launched on or after November 4, 2008. A Fido Customer Service representative can help you select the plan best suited to your needs. If I’m a Fido Prepaid Service subscriber, can I switch to any of the new monthly plans, and how do I do that?

The $35 set-up fee is charged if you choose to go to a monthly plan launched on or after November 4, 2008. Your prepaid account balance will be transferred to your monthly account. To talk to one of our representatives, call 611, free of charge, from your Fido, or 1-888-481-3436.

Will calls continue to be billed by the second?

Yes. Fido has always had per-second billing with its monthly plans and our customers will continue to enjoy the benefits of per-second billing with the new Fido plans. Prepaid services will continue to be charged by the minute.

What about Fido’s expanded network, will it remain the same or will you change the coverage zones?

Fido’s coverage zones will be integrated as of November 4. The Expanded Network zone will be included in the new plans launched on November 4.

Customers prior to November 4, 2008 who choose to go to a plan launched on or after November 4, will have to pay a one-time set-up fee of $35 per line to have access to the Expanded Network which is now included, please refer to our national Coverage Map.

Fido customers prior to November 4, 2008 will continue to be charged according to the network coverage offered with their existing plan and/or option.

Will I have to pay for a paper invoice?

As a Fido customer prior to November 4, 2008, you may continue to receive a paper invoice without charge. All new Fido customers  after November 4, must provide an email address and register to online billing. For a paper invoice, there will be a $2 charge per month, which will be donated to plant trees. Register now at  fido.ca/billing to register.
