Pay your bill or change your payment method

Here you’ll find the different payments methods, instructions regarding registration and how to make payments.

Bill payment options

Pre-authorized payments

Credit card

Things to Know

  • The credit card must be in the account holder’s name.
  • Accepted credit cards (Canadian and international): Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
  • The registration for pre-authorized payment must be completed at least 48 hours prior to the withdrawal date.
  • Bills generated with a balance of $5 or less will not be charged to your credit card unless they are first or final bills.
  • The charge for your monthly bill will be applied to your credit card approximately 14 days after the monthly bill is issued
  • You will not receive a payment return envelope with your bill when set up on pre-authorized payments. To request one, call 6-1-1 on your Fido phone or 1-888-481-3436.

To enroll or switch to pre-authorized payment:

  • On fido.ca:
    • Log in to My Account and click Change Payment Method under the Payment Information section.
  • On our Interactive Voice Response System:
    • Call 6-1-1 on your Fido phone or 1-888-481-3436 and press * for our self-service menu.

What happens if my payment is declined?

  • If your payment is declined, we will try to withdraw the payment 3 more times, 7 days after each attempt.
  • If payment is declined on the last attempt, you will be charged $25 for insufficient funds (not applicable for Quebec residents)

  • Only cheques from Canadian financial institutions are accepted.
  • Bills generated with a balance of $5 or less will not be charged to your bank account unless they are first or final bills.

    • Send the completed signed form, a recent bill and a void cheque by mail or fax to 1-888-290-3436 (Delay: allow 6 weeks for first withdrawal)

  • If payment is declined on the last attempt, you will be charged $25 for insufficient funds (not applicable for Quebec residents).
Credit Cards

Things to Know

  • For payments made on fido.ca, you will receive an email confirmation of the transaction.
  • For payments made on our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System, you will receive a confirmation text message on your phone.
  • Payment is applied immediately to your account when done on fido.ca or by calling us (IVR).
  • For payments made at a Fido store or kiosk, the payment posting delay is up to one business day.

  • Log in to My Account and click Make A Payment under the Payment Information section.

On our Interactive Voice Response System

  • Call *28 on your Fido phone or 1-888-481-3436 and press * for our self-service menu.

Financial Institutions (Internet and telephone banking, ATM and teller)

Things to Know

  • You will need your Fido bill.
  • The payment will be applied to your account approximately 5 business days for Internet and telephone banking payments, and up to 10 business days for ATM and teller payments.

To make a payment using one of these payment options:

For Internet and telephone banking

  • First set up your account with your financial institution by visiting their Web site (Internet banking) or by calling them (telephone banking). Have your Fido bill handy as you will need your account number to register.

For ATM and teller payments

  • Available only to customers who receive a monthly paper bill. Your printed online bill will not be accepted as it is not encoded with a payment bar at the bottom. Therefore, you will need the original bill.
Through the mail

Things to Know

  • The payment methods accepted are money order and cheque.
  • The payment will be applied to your account approximately 5 business days after the payment is received.
  • Charge for insufficient funds (returned cheque): $25 (not applicable for Quebec residents).
  • Payable to: Fido Solutions Inc. The account number must be indicated on the front of the cheque or money order and the payment stub must be included in the envelope.

You are liable for all charges to your account. Charges to your account are due and payable in full from the date of your invoice or statement. If you are paying by mail or through a financial institution, please allow adequate time for your payment to reach us prior to the required payment date.

If payment of an amount due on your account is not received by us by the required payment date specified by us, it will be considered a delinquent amount and will be subject to a late payment charge of 2% per month, calculated and compounded monthly on the delinquent amount (26.82% per year) from the date of the first invoice on which the delinquent amount appears until the date we receive such amount in full. You agree that we can charge any unpaid and outstanding amount, including any late payment charges, on your account to your credit card, bank account or any other payment method pre-authorized by you for payment of our charges.

Not applicable to Residents of Québec: Administrative charges may be levied for administration or account processing activities in connection with your account, including,
without limitation, as a result of the following:

  • collection efforts due to non-payment or having a balance over your credit limit, including
    unbilled usage and pending charges, fees and adjustments;
  • returned or rejected payments;
  • change of any identifier (e.g., phone number); and
  • the restoration of Service.

A list of such charges is available on request and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Applicable only to Residents of Québec: Administrative charges may be levied for administration or account processing activities in connection with your account, including as a
result of the change of any identifier (e.g., phone number). A list of such charges is available on request and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Any questions or discrepancies regarding charges must be reported to us within 90 days of the date of our invoice or other statement. Failure to notify us within this time period will constitute your acceptance of such charges.
