Call Display

Call Display allows you to see a caller’s number on your handset display, or his or her name if you’ve entered it in your phone book. This service is included with your prepaid service.

When you receive a call, look at your phone display. You’ll see the number unless the caller blocked the ID. When placing a call, if the person you’re calling has the same feature, he or she will see your number.

Things to Know

  • A maximum of 15 characters can be displayed.
  • When receiving a call from an international number or from certain U.S. regions, it might show as ‘unknown number’.
  • A call from someone who has blocked his or her name and number from being displayed will appear as "Private Name/Private Number" or ‘’Anonymous’’.
  • The name that appears when you call someone is the name you provided Fido when you activated your account.
  • When using Call Forwarding, your name will not show on a call that’s being forwarded.
  • When sending a text message, your number will still appear in the recipient’s SMS inbox even if your display is blocked.

How to use Call Display

If you want to block your number from being displayed, follow these instructions:

To block:

  • Temporary: Type #31#, free of charge, before each phone call.
  • Permanent: Consult your phone's User Guide for the steps to follow.

To unblock:

Using your Call Display while traveling

In Canada on the Fido network:

While in the U.S. or Internationally:
