How to change to a Fido Prepaid Service

Fido offers monthly price plans as well as prepaid service. If you want to change to a prepaid service, please read the following:

Things to Know

  • The account balance on your monthly plan must be in good standing before you may change to a prepaid service.
  • A $35 fee will be applied to your account unless you’re changing to a prepaid service within your 15-day satisfaction period.
  • If you change to a prepaid service and you have an agreement that has not yet ended, you will be charged an early cancellation and/or early data cancellation fee (if applicable).
  • If you only have one phone number on your monthly account and you’re changing this phone number to a prepaid service, your FidoDollarsTM balance will be transferred to your new prepaid account.
  • If you have Voice Messaging on your monthly plan account, you’ll lose all of your saved messages, greeting message and voice signature, as well as your access code, which will be re-initialized.
  • Airtime must be added within the first 30 days after changing to a prepaid service or the phone number will be deactivated.
  • After you have changed to a prepaid service, you will not be able to go back to your old monthly price plan if it is no longer offered.

How to change to a prepaid service

  • Dial 6-1-1, free of charge, from your Fido phone or 1-888-481-3436 from any other phone.

Unless otherwise set out in the Materials, if you agree to subscribe to one of our plans or Services for a committed period of time (known as a ‘Fido Agreement’ and referred to in these Terms as a “Commitment Period”), you may be subject to an early cancellation fee (“ECF”) for a deactivated phone number. Any decrease in your Commitment Period may be subject to a fee. If your Service is terminated prior to the end of the Commitment Period, you will pay us an ECF as specified in your Fido Service Agreement, plus taxes.
